Nature’s Reef & Reptile is a reptile store in Queens for keepers at every level, from a first gecko to a full habitat upgrade. Come in, meet the animals, and then leave with the right setup before you bring one home.
Animals at our reptile store in Queens
Our animals change with every delivery. So the best way to see what’s here today is to stop by, or first check the new arrivals board. Here’s what we carry:
- Crested geckos, New Caledonian giant geckos and other geckos
- Other lizards, as new deliveries come in
- Turtles and tortoises with shells of 4 inches and up

Looking for a snake or a frog? Ask about an animal, and we’ll tell you what’s in. That way, you won’t make the trip for nothing.

Build your reptile’s habitat with us
Come build your reptile’s new habitat with us. First, bring your questions, your enclosure size or a photo of your current setup. Then we’ll help you pick the lighting, heat and substrate that fit the animal you keep. Whether it’s your first enclosure or an upgrade, we’ll walk you through it.
Prefer to just drop in? Walk-ins are always welcome.

Animals stores can’t sell in New York City
New York City’s Health Code bans keeping or selling many reptiles, including all pythons and boas, monitor lizards, iguanas, tegus, snapping turtles and venomous snakes (Article 161). Federal law also bans selling turtles and tortoises with shells under 4 inches (21 CFR 1240.62).
We only sell animals that are allowed in NYC, and we can’t source, hold or order banned species for anyone. This is general information, not legal advice.
Questions about our reptile store in Queens
Is an animal I saw online still available?
Maybe. Call the store first, or send a quick note from the Ask about an animal page, and we’ll let you know whether it’s still here.
Do I need an appointment?
No. You can walk in anytime we’re open. Want time to talk through a new setup? Send a visit request, and we’ll get back to you to confirm.
Do reptiles carry Salmonella?
Yes. Reptiles can carry Salmonella germs even when they look healthy and clean. So wash your hands with soap and water after you touch a reptile, its food or anything in its habitat (CDC).
